What are sunscreen roller blinds and how do they work?

Sunscreen roller blinds are a made-to-measure roller blind in an open-weave screen fabric. The tiny gaps in the weave let you keep your outward view and natural light while the fabric cuts glare, blocks a high percentage of UV and reduces heat at the glass. Lowered during the day they soften harsh sun without closing the room off, which makes them ideal for living rooms, kitchens, offices and any bright, view-facing window.

Do sunscreen blinds give privacy?

They give good daytime privacy: from outside in daylight the screen reads as a solid surface, so people cannot easily see in, while you can still see out. The amount depends on the fabric openness and the colour — lighter fabrics keep more view, darker fabrics give sharper glare control and a touch more privacy. At night, with interior lights on, sunscreen fabric becomes more see-through, so for bedrooms and street-facing rooms we recommend pairing them with a blockout roller, choosing a dual (double) roller, or fitting a blockout instead. We'll talk it through at your free measure.

Yes.
