Dual roller blinds in a modern Auckland bedroom — a sunscreen and a blockout roller on one bracket
Overview

Made-to-measure dual rollers — the best of both blinds

Dual roller blinds — also called double roller blinds — mount two separate roller blinds on one bracket at the same window. In front sits a sunscreen blind that cuts glare and UV while keeping your view; behind it sits a blockout blind for total darkness and privacy. Each runs on its own chain or motor, so you simply lower whichever layer suits the moment. It's the one fitting that covers every hour of the day.

Because each layer is made to measure, the two blinds line up neatly on a single tidy bracket and roll cleanly into the recess. It's the most flexible roller setup we make — popular in bedrooms, living rooms and media rooms where people want a daytime screen and genuine blockout at night without doubling up on separate windows treatments. Made in our Auckland factory and supplied right across New Zealand.

How it works

One bracket, two jobs

By day

Sunscreen layer

Lower the front screen to cut glare and block UV while you keep your outward view and natural light. Furniture and floors are protected from fading, and the room stays cooler and more comfortable.

By night

Blockout layer

Lower the blockout behind it for total darkness and complete privacy — no silhouettes, ideal for sleeping. The dense fabric also adds a layer of insulation at the glass on cold nights.

Why choose them

Total light control, all on one window

Day-to-night flexibility

Switch from a glare-free daytime view to full blackout in a moment — no swapping blinds, no compromise between view and darkness.

One neat fitting

Two blinds share a single double bracket, so you keep a clean, uncluttered window instead of two separate treatments fighting for space.

Perfect for bedrooms

View and soft light by day, total darkness and privacy for sleeping at night — the reason dual rollers are a bedroom and media-room favourite.

Make it yours

Your dual roller options

Every blind is made to measure — these are the choices we'll walk through at your free in-home consultation.

Front fabric
Aventus open-weave sunscreen — cuts glare and UV while keeping your view. Choose the openness and colour to suit each window's sun.
Back fabric
Blockout roller fabric for total darkness and privacy — over 20 colours, so you can match or contrast the screen.
Bottom rail
Oval, round or flat bottom rail to finish each blind.
Operation
Each layer on its own chain, or motorise one or both for remote control — and a child-safe, chainless finish.
Mount & fit
Inside the recess or face-fixed over it; face-fixing or side channels help cut edge light for the darkest blockout result.

Dual roller blinds for Auckland homes

Auckland homes ask a lot of a single window — strong daytime sun and glare on harbour and garden outlooks, then a need for real darkness and privacy at night in our denser suburbs. Dual rollers answer both: the sunscreen keeps your view and tames the afternoon sun, while the blockout delivers genuine bedroom darkness once the lights go on outside. They're a natural fit for the apartments, townhouses and renovated villas going up across the region, where one tidy fitting beats crowding the window with separate blinds.

We supply made-to-measure dual roller blinds right across New Zealand. For Auckland customers we also offer a free in-home measure and professional installation — wherever you are:

Dual roller blinds — frequently asked questions

What are dual roller blinds?
Dual roller blinds — also called double roller blinds — are two separate roller blinds mounted on one bracket at the same window: a sunscreen blind in front and a blockout blind behind. By day you lower the sunscreen to cut glare and UV while keeping your view; by night you lower the blockout for total darkness and complete privacy. You get the benefits of both blinds on a single, tidy fitting, each on its own chain or motor.
What is the difference between dual roller blinds and zebra (day-night) blinds?
They solve a similar problem in different ways. A zebra blind is one blind made of alternating sheer and solid stripes that slide over each other — sleek, but it does not give full blockout darkness. Dual roller blinds are two full blinds on one bracket, so you get a genuine sunscreen for the day and a genuine blockout for night, including total darkness for sleeping. Choose zebra for a slimline striped look and easy light control; choose dual rollers when you want real blockout as well as a daytime screen — for example in bedrooms and media rooms.
Are dual roller blinds good for bedrooms?
Yes — they are one of the most popular choices for bedrooms. The sunscreen layer lets you enjoy the view and soft daylight without glare during the day, and the blockout layer gives total darkness and privacy for sleeping at night, with no need to swap blinds or rooms. For the darkest possible result we can face-fix the blinds or add side channels or a pelmet to cut the edge light, and we'll recommend the best setup at your free measure.
Can dual roller blinds be motorised?
Yes. Each blind in a dual roller can run on its own chain, or you can motorise one or both for remote control — handy when there are two blinds to operate on a large or hard-to-reach window, and a motorised option removes the chains for a safer choice around children. We'll recommend the best operation for each window when we measure.
Do you install dual roller blinds across Auckland and supply the rest of New Zealand?

If you're outside Auckland we supply made-to-measure dual rollers NZ-wide for you to install yourself — just measure your windows and we'll do the rest.
